  • Stanbic Bank Zambia Limited, a part of the Standard Bank Group, in relation to USD 71.5 million financing to Kariba North Bank Extension Power Corporation (KNBEPC), a wholly owned subsidiary of ZESCO, for the development of the 100MW Chisamba Solar PV Project.
  • Trafigura Pte Limited, multinational commodity trading company, in relation to a prepayment facility agreement for an aggregate amount of USD 2 million to Suleman Roadways Limited.
  • Absa Bank Zambia Plc, Absa Bank Limited, and Absa Bank (Mauritius) Limited (collectively referred to as the “Original Lenders”) in connection with providing term loan facilities of up to USD 150,000,000 to United Capital Fertilizer Zambia Company Limited (UCF) for the expansion of UCF’s Urea Fertilizer Plant (the “Plant”), as well as for working capital needs for the procurement of raw materials for the Plant and for the purchase of urea for UCF’s trading activities.
  • ABSA Bank Zambia Plc (Absa) in relation to a syndicated loan facility of up to ZMW 850 million to Unifi Credit Limited (Unifi), a part of Unifi Africa Group. Unifi had other lending arrangements with the Zambia National Commercial Bank Plc (Zanaco) and Atlas Mara Zambia Limited (Atlas Mara), pursuant to which an intercreditor/security sharing structure had been put in place.
  • First Quantum Minerals Limited in relation to a USD 30 million equity investment through a preferential share subscription in Barotse Highway Limited (BHL), a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV), with a concession for the design, build, finance, operate, maintain, and transfer of a crucial 371-kilometre road connecting Mutanda and Kasempa-Kaoma in Zambia’s North-Western and Western Provinces through a public-private partnership.
  • A global engineering and construction contractor primarily focused on infrastructure, industrial and high-end commercial projects in the Middle East, Africa, and the United States, in relation to the development of a 250 MW solar power plant and 100 MW of battery storage in the Republic of Zambia.
