Her experience includes competition litigation, merger control and legal advisory work in relation to horizontal and vertical restrictive practices, abuse of dominance and market inquiries.
Daniela has assisted in respect of matters before the South African Competition Tribunal and Competition Appeal Court as well as the Fair Competition Tribunal in Tanzania, Competition and Fair-Trading Commission in Malawi and the Namibian Competition Commission.

Recently Daniela advised:
- Facebook Inc, WhatsApp Inc and Facebook South Africa (as part of the Meta Group) in the complaint referral proceedings instituted by the South African Competition Commission. The matter is ongoing and involves issues attaching to the terms of use applicable to a platform or messaging system, the interaction between intellectual property and competition law, and public interest considerations.
- Client in the advertising space in the South African Competition Commission’s Media and Digital Platforms Market Inquiry.
- Parties in the agribusiness space in obtaining merger clearance in South Africa. Deal value approximately USD 8 billion.
- Anheuser-Busch InBev SA/NV in relation to its intervention in the merger between Sunside Acquisitions (Pty) Ltd and Namibian Breweries Investment Holdings Ltd and Distell Group Holdings Ltd.
- Broadcaster space regarding the decision of the competition authority in relation to media and marketing rights for African football tournaments in COMESA.
- Providing competition compliance advice to various clients across a broad range of industries, including banking and finance, FMCG and the education sector.
