Overview

Ari is an associate in our corporate department and a member of our M&A practice.

He has experience in a broad range of corporate and commercial transactions across various sectors, including public takeovers, take-privates, schemes of arrangement, domestic and cross-border private M&A, share and asset/business acquisitions and disposals, corporate restructuring, due diligences and general corporate and commercial matters.

Ari works closely with our specialist teams on transactions and is comfortable working on broader deal teams alongside international and local counsel as well as financial and public relations advisors.

Jurisdictions worked in: South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Mauritius and Mozambique.
Languages fluent in: English and Hebrew

Ari has advised:

  • Groupe Canal+ S.A.S on its mandatory offer to the shareholders of MultiChoice Group Limited, for a consideration of ZAR 36 billion (Winner, Dealmakers Deal of the Year, 2024).
  • the Peermont Group, one of South Africa’s leading hospitality, entertainment and gaming groups, on the restructure and the disposal of its assets to Sun International Limited for a consideration of ZAR 7.3 billion (Shortlisted for Dealmakers Deal of the Year, 2023).
  • Mediterranean Shipping Company (as part of a consortium with Remgro Limited) on its take-private of Mediclinic International plc by way of a UK scheme of arrangement, for a consideration of ZAR 74 billion (Shortlisted for Dealmakers Deal of the Year, 2022).
  • Mérieux NutriSciences on the South African aspects of its acquisition of the food testing business of Bureau Veritas for an enterprise value of EUR 360 million.
  • Quexco Incorporated on its acquisition of the Turkish energy storage business of Metair Group Limited for an enterprise value of US$ 110 million.
  • Allianz X GmbH on the South African aspects of its acquisition of 100% of the share capital of Innovation Group Holdings Limited, a leading global provider of claims and technology solutions to the insurance and automotive industries.
  • Sibanye-Stillwater Limited on the pre-transactions structuring and royalty aspects of its sale of the Beisa Uranium Mine to Neo Energy Metals Plc.
  • A leading global paint and coatings manufacturer on its scheme of arrangement to acquire the remaining shares it did not hold in its South African subsidiary.
