On 11 April 2014, the President set the commencement date for certain sections of the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA) by proclamation in the Government Gazette. A copy of the proclamation can be found here. In terms of this proclamation, the following sections of POPIA have commenced with immediate effect .
